you have turned six.

wait.

wasn't that just yesterday that you smiled for the first time? weren't you just pulling to a stand and doing the monkey walk around the dining room? i remember when i was walking you (emma) to your crib and first heard you say "mama". i remember the big open mouthed kisses you (abby) would give.

it feels like only a breath.

sometimes each day feels like a year in itself and time seems to move so slowly. and then i wake up and somehow you have both turned six.

remember that song from the sound of music? "how do you catch a cloud and pin it down?" i cannot stop this time as it flies by.

Jesus help me cherish it.

i cherish you both emma and abby. i treasure you. you are rare and precious. of great worth and value. i hold you dear to my heart. six years ago today was one of the happiest days in my life.
