he speaks

the most adorable little noises have been coming out of sam lately. 

a couple of weeks ago i maintain that he said mama. of course, no one was there to hear it but me and apparently russell says it doesn't count. he was crawling and got stuck underneath the seat of his excersaucer, and said, "mama" in kind of this sad little help me voice. of course the next day russell was home, and i had gone out for a bit and he called me to have me listen to sam repeatedly saying "da da da da" on the phone. so, we both heard that one. now though, he has gotten the hang of mama. he said it to me when i put him down to go get groceries out of the car. i was setting him down and he grabbed my arms and said "mama" like "don't put me down". and then later this evening i was leaving the room he was in and he started crawling toward me saying it. of course, again, no one is here. russell took the girls on a date. that's okay though, because i am completely filled with joy and love. it is so precious to hear him say it.and i maintain, that as of now, he knows what he is saying when he says mama. with da da, i think he is just sticking a couple of sounds together that are easy to say. right russ?
