abby: "mommy i want you to stay in here."
me: "baby, mommy sang songs and told a story, and now i need to go so i can hear if sam is asleep yet."
abby: "but there are no big kids in here with me. i want a big kid in here."
me: "well, you have emma here and your bunny to sleep with, and you have Jesus with you all the time looking after you."
abby: "is Jesus in my heart?"
me: "he will be if you want him to be. do you want him to be sweetie?"
abby: "yes."
me: "then he will be there all the time to comfort you and help you. and then you would be in heaven with him and mommy and daddy. heaven is our forever home. do you want to be there?
abby: "yes."

abby: "yes."
me: "do you want to pray and tell jesus that you love him and believe that he came and died on the cross to save you. and that he rose again so we can live in heaven, our forever home with him?"
abby: (nodding head yes) "mommy, will you pray with me"
me: "yes baby. God i believe that you love me so much.."
abby: "God i believe that you love me so much.."
me: "that you sent your son Jesus to die on the cross for me.."

abby: "i love you Jesus. amen."
me: "now he is with you forever and always."
abby: "mommy, where is heaven?"
and i honestly can't remember how i answered that one even though it was last night. i was wishing russell was at home to help put it all into three year old language.
and i honestly can't remember how i answered that one even though it was last night. i was wishing russell was at home to help put it all into three year old language.
then i turned to emma who had been tugging on my shirt the whole time i was talking with abby.
emma: "mommy, is Jesus going to come out of my stomach?"
hmmm.... sounds like there is still some confusion. i'm pretty sure emma associated Jesus being in our hearts to when samuel was in my stomach when i was pregnant. we talked a lot about it at the time, but it still comes up pretty often about Jesus being in her stomach. after explanations and hugs and kisses i was leaving the room and...
abby:"mommy, i want a big kid to be in here."
