A South Texas New Year

For whatever reason I couldn't upload the images from our Christmas here at home onto the blog. So I'm going to have to just put those on facebook along with the rest of the ones from Thanksgiving in Tyler. The day after Christmas, we headed down to the ranch to spend New Year's with Russell's family. We got to be there for most of the week and had a wonderful time. Check Russell's blog to see pictures of the deer that Daniel and Jason shot while we were there.

On our way down we stopped at the bird lease and did some dove hunting.

The girls with their Don Don.

During the hunt, Abby went over to Donna and said she wanted to hold one of the birdies. She walked over to me with a dead dove. Blood was getting on her hand and she had absolutely no problem with it. I still will hardly touch them after I shoot, and my daughter was coming over holding it with blood on her hands. A true hunter from an early age.

We had a blast. Thank you Don Don and Pappy for a wonderful time at the ranch. Almost daily the girls ask to go back.
