rodeo time

we live within walking distance of the houston rodeo, which has proven to be really nice the past couple of years. we are just far enough away to not be affected by the traffic it brings, but close enough that we can walk over as a family one day to enjoy the animals and rides.

we let the kids get one souvenir each, and sam promptly chose this cowboy hat. first he tried on a standard colored cowboy hat and quickly replied, "no. black." when he eyed this baby down the way.

the girls each went with a lasso, which they enjoy trying to capture each other with as they run through the backyard. russ even got himself a fancy boot shine, which i think he enjoyed more than he let on.

look out, this cowboy is intense.
