on the way back from the ranch we made it to our traditional trip to dewberry farms pumpkin patch. it was the perfect fall day. we don't get too many of those here in houston, so we all thoroughly enjoyed the coolness and the feel of the season for the afternoon.
what we typically do is everyone gets one pumpkin. we set them out front and then carve them closer to halloween, roast the seeds and have some hot chocolate (even if it's not cold out). there is just something about the whole season... you just know it is supposed to be cold. and so when there are days like 90 plus degrees, it doesn't feel right. so we will have hot chocolate darn it. even if it's toasty outside.
