school days

well... the girls have started kindergarten. honestly i'm not sure what to think. part of me is really enjoying the quiet and the alone time with samuel. another part is feeling like i should have homeschooled for a year or something because 5 seems so little to be gone all day every day. but then i look at the reality and let's be serious, me plus homeschooling would not go well.
for a lot of reasons, we decided to send them to our local neighborhood school. it is a magnet school for  art, dance, orchestra, and music. it's interesting to feel so unsure about a decision. there are a lot of sweet neighborhood kids going there and already i've experienced some really sweet fellowship and support from some of the other moms.

originally, the girls were in separate classes. after two days of talking with the principal, who says she typically does not separate them at this age, and emma crying and clinging to me, we decided to put emma in abby's class also. the past few days they have done really well, and seem to be enjoying being together.

we shall see. as it is with twins, every day is different. they are best friends, but they also fight quite a bit. hopefully they will learn to be a support to eachother and their sister and friend relationship will grow through this year.

we are looking forward to the long weekend. this is truly a new chapter we are entering into, and we trust that our good God will help us navigate through it. i'm certainly thankful because i have no idea what i'm doing.

the other day sam got a little lego watering trough for the zoo legos, lined up a bunch of toys, and individually gave them water. including the train.
good job buddy, the longhorn was really thirsty.
