refused

i've been driving the girls to their old preschool three mornings a week (takes about 30 minutes). then i take sam to either my mother-in-law's, or my parents townhome for a nap. today, he refused. he's in that between one and two naps stage. i knew he was tired. and normally he takes a two hour nap in the mid-morning. but he was not wanting any of that today. so eventually, i said forget it and put him in the car because i needed to run an errand before picking the girls up. about five minutes into the drive i turned to say something to him and saw

he hardly ever sleeps in the car. so i put some music on i enjoy and drove down the highway till he woke. granted, it was only twenty minutes, but it was a sweet twenty minutes of glancing at his sleeping face.

and yes, he refused a good nap the whole day, so i had one tired baby tonight. bedtime at 6, i think so.
