so big

on july 29th, the girls birthday, we were driving to tyler, and abby said, "i wish i could see a rainbow". she proceeded to sing for awhile to about Jesus and rainbows. in my heart i talked to the Lord, "it would be awesome if you put a rainbow in the sky for her to see". we got to tyler early in the afternoon, and russ and i headed out in the early evening for my 10 year high school reunion. my dad had taken the girls out on the golf course. as we were driving out we looked up and saw the most beautiful rainbow covering an expanse of the sky. you could not miss it. immediately we called the girls to find they had just seen it as well. my dad said her excitement was precious and overflowing. we talked to her on the phone, sharing her excitement, and reminding her of how God had heard her sweet prayer and songs to Him, and put it there for her on her birthday.

i was so excited, somehow i forgot to take a picture out of the car window. usually pictures are a pretty quick default for me, but not this time. so i am writing it down to record the memory for our family. remember girls, He always hears you. always. and He loves you both so much. so big. bigger than that amazing rainbow He painted in the sky for you, His precious children, on your birthday.
