slide with me

we spent last week at hyatt lost pines with my parents and my brother and his girlfriend ashley. the girls have been looking forward to it since we pulled out of the parking lot last year. the days were spent swimming, eating, watching movies (the girls), reading (me and my mom), golfing (the guys), and getting a massage (the girls). at the pool we went around the lazy river, built sandcastles, buried the girls, threw them over the volleyball net, and took trip after trip down the water slide. there were crafts for the kids every day, and smores and movies outside at night. sam had a great time as well, and was his typical smiling self.

emma and abby wanted repeatedly to go down the water slide, often asking, "will you slide with me mommy, daddy, joe, ashley, nana, papa...?" so many of us there to have fun with. i think they'd have done it all day had we not redirected them to another activity every now and then. and sometimes i found i would get tired, and not necessarily want to go up and slide again. then i remembered, it won't be long before they will always want to slide on their own, without being in my lap. and they won't always say, "slide with me!". so i got excited and went again.
