surgery

for those of you who don't know, emma and abby have had two little friends called "bunny" and "raff" for a long time. since they were sam's age i would say, if not earlier. aren't the names creative? really i wanted to let them decide, but when they are unable to speak you just go with something, so i was very original. i don't actually know whether they are boys are girls, because at various times abby has told me random names belonging to both genders, but they always end up just being bunny. they have made many appearances in this blog, you just may not have realized. in the younger days they were tucked under arms, or being hugged, or perhaps in the background somewhere. i bought back ups a long time ago in case one of them ever got lost. however, they found them and just started sleeping with both of them.

all to say, they have been loved on. a lot.

and they have been washed. a lot.

so this post is dedicated to a major surgery that both bunnies had to undergo. i had hand-stitched the inside of bunnies ears many a time for abby, only to discover a couple of days later they had tattered again from being rubbed and snuggled. so i asked her if she would like some new fabric inside his ears. i took the most rainbow-like fabric that i had (first making sure she was ok it didn't have purple in it), and put bunnies under.

i did a much better hand-stitch job this time. my doctoring skills are improving. i am happy to report that all bunnies returned to their lovely owner, well rested and feeling 100 percent. and she was very happy with the result.

after seeing the result, em asked me to put fabric on one of her raff's feet. she did not want me sewing on her original giraffe however. with raff we can tell the original because he has no stuffing left in his neck. it's been squeezed too much.
