today we took emma and abby on a "date" to go see disney princess on ice. walking in amidst hundreds of little girls dressed as princesses i couldn't help but be excited for my little girls to see some of the stories come to life. they loved it and had so much fun. i've been thinking about princesses lately. i think it is amazing how it is instilled in us as girls to desire a savior so early. we desire to be beautiful, to be loved, to be rescued. even at the age of three. i think God puts that within us from the beginning so that when we see truth we know He is our ultimate savior, our first love. He is our prince. nothing fulfills the desires we have for love and affection as He does because He is the author of those things. our other relationships can be wonderful, but never all that He provides in Himself.
may i never forget my first love, Jesus, and may i use His love that fills me up to overflow to my husband, my children, my friends, strangers, and all of His creations. russell and i have in our wedding bands 1 John 4:19 "we love because he first loved us." this reminds us of His great love for us and that we can only love each other well if we are walking with Him, being in His Word. may that natural love flowing from His source draw emma, abby, samuel, to Him.
"that according to the riches of his glory may he grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith - that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God." Ephesians 3:16-19
